Resolving High-Value Financial Disputes with Discretion and Expertise
Separating when significant or complex finances are involved brings a particular set of pressures — and court is rarely the calmest or most private way to resolve them. At Digital MIAM, our complex asset mediation service helps individuals and families with substantial financial portfolios divide their assets with clarity, fairness, and minimal conflict — through a structured, confidential process that keeps you in control and out of the public courtroom.
Who this service is for
Complex asset mediation is designed for people with substantial or intricate finances. This often includes:
Individuals with £1 million+ in assets or equity
Couples with multiple residential or investment properties
Families managing inherited estates, trusts, or offshore holdings
Business owners seeking to separate personal and commercial assets
Divorcing couples requiring tailored financial settlements
What it covers
Our experienced mediators help you explore practical solutions across the full range of complex assets — multiple UK or overseas properties, rental and buy-to-let portfolios, high-value pensions and private wealth, business shares and ownership stakes, and family trusts, inheritances, or intergenerational wealth. Rather than imposing templated outcomes, we work with your exact financial situation to reach a fair, workable agreement.
Why choose mediation for complex finances
Confidential and private. Sensitive financial matters stay out of the public eye and away from court records.
Cost-efficient. You avoid the high legal fees and drawn-out litigation that complex financial cases can attract, resolving matters collaboratively instead.
Bespoke agreements. Solutions are built around your real circumstances, not a standard formula.
Faster and more flexible. Mediation is significantly quicker than waiting months or years for court hearings, and sessions fit around you.
Reduced conflict. Neutral, expert mediators help lower tension and keep discussions cooperative — which matters especially where children or ongoing financial ties are involved.
How the process works
We begin with a MIAM and an assessment of your case, so we understand your financial landscape and your goals. Each party then provides full and frank financial disclosure; where needed, we work alongside valuation professionals to value property, pensions, or business assets accurately. Structured mediation sessions follow, in which asset division is discussed and an equitable settlement is worked out. Once agreement is reached, we prepare a Memorandum of Understanding recording the settlement, which you can take to a solicitor to convert into a legally binding consent order — ensuring it is enforceable through the courts.
Why act sooner rather than later
Delaying high-value financial mediation often means greater cost, more conflict, and prolonged uncertainty. Engaging early gives you a fully digital, streamlined process, national access to experienced mediators, significant cost savings compared with litigation, and the reassurance of protecting your wealth, privacy, and future. Complex asset mediation forms part of our specialist mediation service (from £160 per hour per person) and begins with a MIAM from £95. If you are facing separation and own significant assets, we can guide you through it — on your terms.
